For Almeon Fonset, it became a way of thinking: not to begin by repeating what already exists, but to look further, question the familiar and give a new idea the time it needs to take form.
Almeon Fonset is an independent watch maison founded in Dubai.
The maison existed first as an idea, before it had a name, a shape or a first watch. It began with a simple discipline: keep working until every part feels resolved and every decision has a reason to be there.
That beginning still guides Almeon Fonset. The work is allowed to change as it develops. What belongs is kept. What does not is reconsidered. A maison is alive in the standards it protects and in the identity that becomes clearer with every decision.
Nothing unnecessary remains.
Union of Seven
Chapter 1 begins with AF-01 Foundation - Union of Seven, the first watch created by Almeon Fonset.
Union of Seven is built around a single idea: seven resolved as one. Distinct forms, tensions and rhythms converge into a single composition, where no element is read independently from the whole.
AF-01 Foundation was conceived as a complete object rather than a case, dial and bracelet designed in isolation. Its proportions, surfaces, relief and transitions were developed as one continuous architecture.
AF-01 Foundation has reached full digital definition. The project now moves into physical prototyping, where proportion, tolerances, finishing and presence will be tested in the object itself.
What follows must be resolved in metal.
An Almeon Fonset should be encountered before it is worn. The first touch, the opening, the weight of each material and the order in which the story is revealed are being considered as carefully as the object itself.
Nothing around the watch should feel like packaging added afterwards. It should protect the watch, introduce it properly and remain part of the experience long after the first opening.
The object, its presentation and its story
should arrive as one.
Almeon Fonset was founded by Rita Almeida and Nuno Fonseca. Their instincts are different, but complementary: one begins with what an object can mean and how it can make someone feel; the other with the standard it must meet before it can carry the Almeon Fonset name.
Rita gives shape to the symbolic, emotional and human side of the maison. Her attention is drawn to the meanings carried quietly by colour, form and detail, and to the feeling of belonging an object can create without needing to explain itself.
“I wanted Almeon Fonset to leave room for people to feel something of their own. Not everything has to be explained the moment it appears.”
Nuno brings that same instinct to the object itself: how it holds together technically, proportionally and in the details that shape how it feels. His focus is on refinement, on the details that are seen and those that are not, and on ensuring that rarity is supported by the quality of the object itself.
“Almost right is not right enough. If something carries our name, it has to feel resolved in every detail before it leaves our hands.”
